Just saw your dad’s house with a for sale sign. I feared the worst and am so sorry for your loss. To me he was Uncle Bob. He was my godfather. He was my dad’s lifelong friend from childhood. I’m so sad I only found out today. I would have come to pay my respects. I bumped into him at Costco and walking in the Livingston Mall. I never met a finer man than Uncle Bob Dolan. Until my mom died (9/4/21) Bobby (as my dad still called him) would stop by with a pizza for my parents. He helped me when was locked out (he always had a key to my folks’ house). He also did little jobs for me over the years. He has a great man, the kind you could rely on and love. I know he missed his beloved Joan and will be happily reunited with her and his son Bob Jr. who died in the Pentagon on 9/11/01. My thoughts and prayers go out to his sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and all who loved him. RIP Uncle Bob. Love Rick(y) Mueller

I don't know exactly how to say how much Mr. Dolan meant to me. He was always "Mr. Dolan" to me because I literally grew up around him and had the highest respect for this man. I'd always call him up over the years on his birthday because it was the day before mine, and he got a heck of a kick out of that. Growing up across the street as his son Dan's partner in mischief, I ended up spending as much time in the Dolan house as mine. He'd always give me a smirky look when Mrs. Dolan would set a place for me at their dinner table and we always got a great laugh out of it. That's one thing I'll miss about him.... We'd always share a laugh whenever we were together. Mr. Dolan was simply, a great man. He had integrity, a great work ethic, and was an upright man. I shall miss you sir. Should I be fortunate enough to get to heaven, I know you'll be there with an extra seat at the table and a good joke to share. Rest In Peace.

My sincerest condolences to Bob's children. He was a good man. He helped me a few times with some home improvement projects; he was my usher at the 7:30 AM Sunday mass at Holy Family and I so admired him for all the work he did for Veterans and for Post 43. A humble, happy, gracious great American. A friend to all he met; the symbol of Florham Park citizenship. A patriot. A builder. A dry wit, tack sharp mind and historical student. Respectful. Honest. A craftsman carpenter, who did everything the right way. Forever smiling, like he just heard a joke he wanted to share. And he often did.
