Obituary of Hiem Ly

Loving Husband, Father, Brother, & Grandfather

Hiem Ly, 68, of Morris Plains passed away on July 18, 2022 in the presence of his loved ones.

Hiem was born in Rach Gia, Vietnam. After he graduated from school, he joined the Air Force serving his country. After leaving the Service, he started and ran his own business, while raising a family of two beautiful daughters with his wife, Dung Nguyen. 

Hiem migrated to the U.S. in 1992 and resided in Morris Plains for the past six years.

Hiem is survived by his loving wife, Dung Nguyen; and his devoted daughters, Truc Ly, and her husband, Tuan Nguyen, of Plymouth, MN, and Lan Ly, and her husband, Tri Ho, of Morris Plains. He is also survived by his beloved brother, Hy Ly; and his cherished grandchildren, Edin Nguyen, Everett Nguyen, Winston Nguyen, Ryan Ho, and Stella Ho.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, 61 Whippany Road, Morristown.
