Obituary of Margaret M. Siegmund

Margaret M. Siegmund passed away peacefully at The Oaks at Denville on August 19, 2022 after a short illness. She thoroughly enjoyed her 99 years on this Earth.  

Born on March 6, 1923, she grew up in Manhattan and Rego Park, NY, where she lived until her marriage to John M. Siegmund in 1951, when she moved to New Jersey. Margaret and John moved to Morris Plains in 1960, where they raised their family. While John passed on in 1984, Margaret continued to live in Morris Plains until her passing.   

Margaret had a tremendous love for her family and friends. She maintained lasting relationships with neighbors and co-workers. In Junior High School, she and several friends formed “The Question Mark Club”, where they, and ultimately their spouses and families, enjoyed life-long friendships, beach picnics at Jones Beach, holiday parties, cook outs, and softball games, as well as regular “Club Meetings”. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Margaret leaves behind her children, Karen (Robert) Schmidt, Danielson, CT, Eric (Susan) Siegmund, Succasunna, NJ, Paula Siegmund (Darren) Rice, Wyckoff, NJ, and Roger (Celeste) Siegmund, Rockville, MD, as well as 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 4-7pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Mass for Margaret will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Virgil's Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
