Obituary of Robert F. Swankie

~~Robert F. Swankie Services are on Tuesday Robert F. "Swank" Swankie, 83, died Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Morristown Medical Center. Visitation services will be held at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, N.J., 07940 from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Mr. Swankie was born in East Orange, N.J., lived many years in Orange, N.J., and settled in Florham Park, N.J., 35 years ago. He spent his professional life as a technical engineer for Celanese. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and a cold beer with lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Larry Dillon. He'll be missed for his humor, sarcasm, and story telling. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Barbara (nee Dillon) Swankie; brothers, William and Richard Swankie; daughters, the late Linda Swankie and Sheila Swankie; grandchildren, Linda Viglione spouse, the late Brendan Chechele, Tara Kostecki, Patrick Burdziak, and great-grandson, Nicholas Viglione. He also leaves a large, loving family of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Autism Speaks .
