Obituary of Donald P. Terreri
Donald P. Terreri, 82 of Morris Plains, NJ passed away peacefully on December 12, 2022 after a short illness. Son of Dominick and Rose, he was born in Morristown in May 1940, and became a founding-season player in the town’s Little League. Don attended Bayley-Ellard High School in Madison, NJ, lettering in basketball and baseball, and then served in the New Jersey National Guard. After further studies in mechanical design, he began a successful 40-year career as a machine designer-draftsman for several area corporations. After retiring from Komline-Sanderson Engineering in Peapack, NJ, he embarked on a 10-yr “second career” as a branch office administrator @ various Edward Jones Investments offices across North Jersey.
Don served as a lector for many years at local Roman Catholic parishes St. Virgil’s and Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel, where he also participated in several other outreach ministries along with his loving wife of 58 years, Jessica Ann Terreri. He coached baseball in the Morris Plains Little League, and served the disabled community as a long-time volunteer at Employment Horizons in Cedar Knolls.
Don was an avid golfer at Flanders Valley, an ardent supporter of his beloved New York Rangers, and enthusiastically enjoyed oil painting. Most of all though, he could happily be found as a constant spectator at the many cultural and athletic endeavors of his children and grandchildren. In addition to wife Jessica, Don is survived by his son Paul (Greenwich, CT) and Paul’s long-time partner Patricia Hurley (West Hartford, CT), his daughter Beth and her husband James Gillespie (Parsippany, NJ) and his three grandchildren of Beth and James - Christina, Matthew, and Caitlin.
A mass of Christian Burial for Don will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 9:30 am at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church, 75 Ridgedale Ave, Cedar Knolls, NJ. Livestreaming of the Mass will be available at (https://www.ndcarmel.com). Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morris Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s name to Several Sources Women’s Shelters in Ramsey, NJ (https://www.severalsources.org).
