Obituary of Raffaela L. Galdi

Raffaela "Dolly" Galdi passed away on December 23, 2022 at HMH Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. 

Dolly was a life-long resident of Morristown. She graduated from Morristown High School.

Dolly started in the beauty business by working at her father's barber shop in Morristown. She also worked at a salon in Mt. Freedom, before opening her own salon, "Chez Dolly", in Morris Plains. Dolly was one of the original co-owners and worked as a Beautician/Hair Colorist at "DeAmour Salon" (formerly "Salon Profilo") in Millburn for over 30 years. The love she had for her long-time clients led her to work at the salon up until a few months ago. 

Dolly loved New York City, and the beach. She owned second homes in Manhattan, NY, Montauk, NY, and Spring Lake, NJ. 

She was also a huge fan of Frank Sinatra; attending many of his performances across the country. 

Dolly also enjoyed travelling, cooking and baking in her spare time. 

Dolly is survived by her loving son, George Leonardis and his wife, Deborah, of Whippany; and her second-cousin, Marie Ricciardi Sloan, and her husband, Bob. She also leaves behind many dear frinds, including, Toni, Maria, Roberta, Catherine and Kevin.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4-7pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Celebration of Life for Dolly will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 11:00am at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover.
