Obituary of Richard Bruce Robertson
~~Richard B. Robertson, 91, formerly of New Jersey, more recently of Easton, Maryland passed away on May 12, 2017 in Easton, Maryland.
Born and raised in Hudson County, NJ, in addition to Maryland, Richard resided in the following places: Sanibel Island, FL, Margate, NJ, Ashville, NC, South Orange, NJ, and Sarasota, FL.
Richard proudly served in the U.S. Navy/Air Corps. during WWII; having enlisted on his 17th birthday. He obtained his B.S. degree in Accounting from New York University in 1948. Richard retired from Allied Chemical International in 1974 as Manager of Accounting. He then formed a wholesale auto parts company which he operated until 2010.
Richard was also a commercial pilot and logged 10,000 hours over a 70-year span.
Richard is survived by his wife, Beatrice Robertson; his brother, Donald Rubenstein, and his wife, Roselyn; his nephew, David Rubenstein, and his wife, Rebecca; his grand-nephew, David Rubenstein; and his grand-niece, Grace Rubenstein. Richard was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Joan Robertson (2008); his son and daughter from a previous marriage; his brothers, Alan Rubenstein and Joel Rubenstein; and his sister, Margot Schwartz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morris Township.
