Obituary of Mario Robertelli

Mario Robertelli, 76, Morristown, Passed away Friday 13, 2023.  Mr. Robertelli was born August 20, 1946, in Magisano Catanzaro Italy.  By the age of 13 he was already working as a heavy machine operator throughout northern Italy and the Austria boarder.  Mr. Robertelli immigrated to America on April 25, 1970.  He was a hard worker who never stood still, with an unparallel work ethic that amazed and astonished anyone who worked alongside him and everyone who knew him.  Shortly after arriving to America, he learned stone masonry and construction.  With his unyielding will and drive, and indestructible bond with his wife Angiolina, he forged ahead and built his own construction business.  He was a member of the St. Margaret’s church in Morristown as well as an avid gardener who loved to share his knowledge with everyone.  Mr. Robertelli loved to break bread with his friends and share stories. He loved giving advice to those seeking a shoulder to lean on, his life experience reflected in his certainty, a certainty that grew through hard times of survival.  Mr. Robertelli spent his life providing and protecting those he loved, and for many who loved him he was a sage.  People like Mr. Robertelli are the last of a dying breed, his absence is a loss that is deeply felt.  Survivors include one son, Robert Robertelli; two daughters, Sandra Robertelli and Lisa (Anthony) Rodriguez; two brothers, Domenico (Anna) and Ricardo (Claudia) Robertelli; four sisters, Concetta, Teresa (Giuseppe), Rosa and Marisa Robertelli; three grandsons, Robbie and Marco Robertelli, and Noah Rodriguez; three granddaughters, Angelina Robertelli, Bella and Gioia Spinella; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family in the US and Italy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Umberto and Saveria Robertelli. 

Viewings will be held 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Wednesday January 18, 2023, at Dangler Funeral Home in Morris Plains NJ.  A mass of Catholic burial will take place 10am Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Assumption Church in Morristown NJ.
