Obituary of Alba L. Logan

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Alba Logan, 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Morris Plains, NJ on February 16, 2023. Born in 1930 to Pasquale and Benigna Mazzarella of South Orange, NJ, Alba is dearly remembered for her enduring kindness and love for family, friends and her community. 

She is survived by husband James R.Logan Jr., children Elise Petrella (Bill), Stewart Logan, James Logan, Cyndi Logan Durbin (Dave), and Maureen Logan Underwood (Jay). Alba is also survived by her brother David Mazzarella and five nieces. She is predeceased by her brother Emil Mazzarella, nephew Tullio David and cherished grandchild Rob Petrella.

Her ready laugh, cheerful smiles and unending support will be remembered especially by grandchildren Steve and Lynn Petrella, Jonathan, Jack and Jeff Logan, and Paige and Sara Underwood.

Alba met husband Jim while both served in the Newark offices of the FBI in the 1950s and also had a long career as a legal secretary in Morristown, NJ. She loved the NJ shore and trips to Italy and Spain, but most of all entertaining family and friends at her home in Morris Plains.  

Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dangler Funeral Home of Morris Plains, NJ.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls, NJ.
