I remember "Bree Senior" at Redeemer smiling with so much joy at each of us, and her warm reaching for my hands as we exchanged the Peace. There were times when she would stand during worship, no matter how difficult it was, because it mattered so much to her to be there and participating, to the best of her ability. I remember, also, hearing her story, how hard it was for her to feel excluded from a faith community, until she came to Redeemer. I guess I must have taken 'welcome' for granted before that point, for her story gave me pause. Who WOULDN'T want to welcome her?! Her delight in her wonderful family, her enjoyment of being with other people, and her joy at participating fully in church made me so glad to see her on so many Sundays. May all her family's cherished memories be a blessing.
