Obituary of Cosimo I. Mazza
Cosimo I. Mazza, 91, of Morris Township passed away on April 7, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Reggio Calabria in Caulonia, Italy, Cosimo resided in Morris Township for the past 53 years.
Cosimo worked as a Maintenance Worker and Bus Driver for the New Providence Board of Education in New Providence for 29 years until he retired in 1992.
He was also a parishioner of St. Thomas More Church in Convent Station, and a member of the Madison Golf Club for 30 years.
In his spare time, Cosimo was an avid gardener; enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family; and loved his cat, “Skipper.”
Cosimo is survived by his loving wife, Jadwiga (“Jessica”) Mazza; his dear sisters, Maria Piscioneri, Lena Piscioneri, and Emilia Badolato; as well as his many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline Pasqualina Mazza; and his beloved sister, Rosa Gaudio.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 4-7pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Thomas More Church, 4 Convent Road, Morristown. Interment will follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit.
