Obituary of Anthony P. DiCataldo

Anthony DiCataldo, 78, of Cedar Knolls passed away at Morristown Medical Center on May 28, 2023.

Born and raised in Newark, Anthony resided in Morris Township for 47 years before moving to Cedar Knolls three years ago.

Anthony worked as a Facilities Manager for ISS/TMC in Bedminster, until he retired in 2019.

In his spare time, Anthony enjoyed going fishing and watching the Yankees. He also loved watching and cheering on his grandchildren while they played sports, especially ice hockey.

Anthony always looked forward to hanging out with his family and friends. Anthony never took life too seriously, as he always liked to crack jokes to “lighten the mood” and get everyone to laugh.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Irene DiCataldo, of Cedar Knolls; and his devoted children, Toni Marie DiCataldo and Brian Shiels, of Morris Plains, Anthony DiCataldo and Mary Ellen (Messemer), of Randolph, and RoseMarie (DiCataldo) and Don Leyhan, of Cedar Knolls. He is also survived by his  beloved sister, Mary DiCataldo, of Morris Township; his dear friends, Bill and Tina Bollinder; his cherished grandchildren, William, Stephanie, Robert, Rose, Michael, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, and Lucy; as well as his adored great-grandchildren, Natalie and Thomas; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Leonard DiCataldo, and his brothers, James DiCataldo and Robert DiCataldo. 

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 4-7pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Service for Anthony will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
