Obituary of Sheila DiMarsico
Sheila DiMarsico passed away on June 20th, surrounded by her adoring family and friends in her home in Morris Plains, NJ. Sheila will be remembered as a gracious, kind, generous woman who loved selflessly and deeply. Her sense of humor and wit was matched by none and her dedication to her family and friends will leave a legacy to all that knew her.
Sheila was born on April 28th, 1946 to Sumner and Ruth Tinkham. She was a beloved wife of 57 years, dedicated mother of two and an exceptional grandmother of four. She made her family home in Morris Township where she and her husband Brian (deceased), would share the raising of their family with her Mom & Dad, Ruth & Sumner (1999) Tinkham until Ruth’s death in 2019.
She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Corrigan (Michael) and Emily DiMarsico, as well honorary daughter Michelle Attardi, by her adoring granddaughters, who were her life’s greatest masterpiece as she had frequently expressed that she was born to be a grandmother: Emma (Max), Meghan, Erin and Olivia.
Sheila worked in retail throughout her life, and her customers and employers still speak of her talent to understand what they needed before they did. Her time at Laura Ashley, outfitting many children and women, with grace and impeccable taste, brought her joy.
This is a huge loss for all that knew and loved Sheila. She will be forever missed, honored and an example to live your life by. She made you feel like you were the only one in the room at a large party or small gathering, always asking about you and your loved ones with a true sense of interest and empathy. Her rare talent to listen and guide you with practical, actionable advice through your lens, not hers, was a gift for all who she touched.
Visitation will be Monday, June 26th from 4pm – 7pm with a service on Tuesday, June 27th at 10:00 am, Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains NJ 07950.
The family is inviting friends and family to a celebration of Sheila’s life at The Madison Hotel, Tuesday, June 27th, 11:30 am – 2:30 pm.
