Obituary of Theresa McGlynn

~~Theresa ‘Joan’ McGlynn, 88, of Denville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at The Oaks at Denville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, N.J.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Joan was born in Pittston, PA to Albert and Regina Walsh on July 12, 1928.  She graduated as Valedictorian at St. John’s High School in Pittston in 1946 and married her high school sweetheart, John Thomas McGlynn, on December 26, 1952.  Joan was a long time resident of Randolph, N.J. raising her family there.  Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

Joan was predeceased in 1997 by her loving husband John T. McGlynn.  She is survived by her son, John T. McGlynn, Jr., of Lincoln Park, N.J.; son, Brian and his wife, Meg McGlynn, of Phoenixville, PA; daughter, Jeanmarie McGlynn, of Baltimore, MD; son, Kevin and his wife, Michelle McGlynn, of Denville, N.J. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Patrick Walsh McGlynn. She was a cherished grandmother who was known as Nana to six beautiful grandchildren, Sarah, Conor, Shannon, Hailey, Patrick and Thomas McGlynn. Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas R. Walsh. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Joan may be made to a charity of one's choice.
