Obituary of Helga M. Schwers

Helga Schwers, 85, passed away on August 16, 2023 at her home in Morris Plains. Born in Hagen, Germany, Helga lived in Morris Plains for the past 43 years.

Helga worked as a Payroll Manager for SMCMUA, Cedar Knolls, for 20 years until her retirement in 2008. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Morristown, NJ.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Diana Schwers-Lee, of Boonton, NJ, and Angela Schwers-Costello and her husband, George, of River Vale, NJ, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Cameron Lee, and Liam Costello. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert Schwers in 2008.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 4-6 pm with a service at 6 pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ. Inurnment of ashes will take place at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Helga’s memory be made to the St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, Madison, NJ (www.sthuberts.org).
