Your Mom was a wonderful person! I met her through Zonta. Her focus on helping women was a shining example of civic involvement. And she was so much fun! I will miss her...

Sorry for your loss. Your mother was a very special lady helping others. She was part of the old neighborhood when I lived in Morristown on Lake Road and we had many good conversations together. I know she will be missed by many. God bless your family

Dear Barbie, Marta, and Vickie,
I will always remember the years that my family lived next door to yours. Marta and Vickie were our first friends. And I looked up to Barbie and Nancy as the cool girls.
Your parents, "Aunt" Barbara and "Uncle" Vic were always so kind to us. Your mom must have fed us a thousand meals, and I don't remember her ever yelling at us no matter how rambunctious we all got.
Your mom was also a good friend to mine, definitely helping her through some hard times!
Aunt Barbara was a lovely lady who will be missed.
Love,
Olga

Dear Barb, Marta and Vickie,
I'm very sorry to hear of Aunt Barbara's' passing. I will always think of her as the bubbly, upbeat Aunt I remember meeting, I think, the first time when we took a trip to see her and Uncle Vic at the home place. I remember learning to play Pence from Uncle Vic and at that time, I remember the Statue of Liberty was being renovated from the old glass lighted torch to the newer gold plated version. My deepest sympathies as I know she will be missed by the whole family. She certainly had a good run and am proud of her.

I enjoyed many wonderful years with Barb through Republican adventures and as a fellow Zonta Club member. Barb exemplified the true meaning of Zonta. It is not only a woman's service club that seeks to advance the status of women, but Zonta is a Sioux Indian word meaning Honest and Trustworthy. These were Barb's traits. And when I think of her, I will always hear her infectious laugh. Until we meet again...

Barb, Martha, and Vickie…I am so sad to hear of your mom’s passing. As you know, my mom considered her “my best friend”, and why not? They grew up together in a wonderful town, at a different, gentler time. Her obituary was beautiful and you captured that innocent time in so so many ways..George Washington School, Redeemer, MHS, meeting and marrying the love of her life. The pictures I kept seeing as a child of them together keep flashing before my eyes. It is so sad to see it all slip away, but we can be so grateful for those wonderful memories. She was an amazing person and so great at giving back and being involved in all that she believed in. I admired her courage and strength, and ability to go forward. I’m going to think of her as reuniting with your dad, Nancy, her sister, mom, all of her family…and of course with my mom, and dad. Now she is resting in the arms of God and in the hearts of all her loved her. Please accept our sincere sympathy and wishes that God sends you peace in your grieving. Love, Cindy and Peter Burke
