Obituary of Maria Anne Ross

It is with sadness that the family of Maria Anne Ross, age 74, born June 18, 1949, want to say that she passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 after a long illness.

Maria was born in Morristown NJ and lived in Morris Plains, NJ all of her life. 

Maria worked at Mennen and LP Thebault for years and volunteered extensively in local theater groups, doing the lighting for a number of performances.  Maria graduated from Montclair State College and was the head of the youth group at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in her younger years.

Maria is survived by her brother, George Arvid Ross and his wife, Karen,  as well as her nephews Stephen Goddard (wife Joan and daughter Caroline), Stuart Goddard (wife Nancy and daughters Rebecca and Katie), James Goddard (wife Pamela and son Tyler), Greg Ross (wife Alycia and daughters Sarah and Jennifer) and Jim Ross (wife Elyse and children Michael, Allison, Annie, Cameron, Sophie, Adam, Tessa and Jed) and her beloved niece Elizabeth Ellis (daughters Emily and Kinsey).  Maria had so many friends who loved her and will miss her deeply, especially Jean, Beth, Tara, Chuck and Frank.  

The viewing will be at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 2 pm - 4 pm. The funeral and celebration of Maria’s life will be Monday, November 6, 2023 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 29 Hillview Ave, Morris Plains, NJ at 11:30 am. Committal will be at Restland Cemetary in E. Hanover, NJ at 1:15 pm. A repast will follow at 2 pm. Details will be announced at the service.
