Mary Anne Elizabeth Newman (Velcamp), 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023, in Wall Township NJ. She is survived by her three children: Bill and his wife Ronalee of Spring Lake, NJ, Donna of Hilton Head Island, SC and Keith and his wife Julie of New York, NY. Mary Anne was immensely proud of her six grandchildren: Brendan Newman of MA, Kate Brown of GA, Caroline Kostecky of SC and Winnie, Beatrice and Jude Newman of NY.  Mary Anne is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Velcamp of Point Pleasant, NJ. and her brother, John Velcamp of San Jose, CA.

Mary Anne was born on February 20, 1939 in Orange, NJ. She graduated from Our Lady of the Valley High School in 1957 and then attended two years of college. After living in East Orange, NJ and Orange, NJ, she moved to West Orange, NJ in 1969. In 1976, Mary Anne moved to her beloved town of Madison, NJ where she spent the next 47 years.

Mary Anne was an Antique Dealer renowned for and specializing in linens and jewelry. Her hobby became her livelihood for 50 plus years. Starting at the Chester flea market in the 1970’s, she would eventually move to the Meyersville Grange. As her business grew, she participated and displayed her merchandise a couple times a year at the International Pier Antique Show in New York City and other regional shows. Alongside the expositions and shows, she maintained a booth at the Morristown Antique Center.  Eventually, she worked and managed a couple of booths at the Summit Antique Center.

In her free time, she enjoyed conversations with her children, reading, and walking one of her three dogs (Duke, Max, and then Bradley) through the campus of Drew University. Her cat, Spike, also roamed freely in and out of the house.  Mary Anne was a proud member of St. Vincents Church since arriving in Madison, NJ.
