Obituary of Ann Casey
Ann Casey was born in the Bronx, New York to Joseph and Agnes Casey on April 28, 1937. The family moved to the Chatham area in the fifties. Ann graduated from Bayley Ellard High School in 1955. Ann worked for Chubb Insurance for her entire working career, meticulously carrying out her responsibilities. She was beloved at Chubb and well known for her kindness and sense of humor. Ann and her beloved, John moved to Middletown, Rhode Island in the late nineties and loved living in the town where her mother Agnes, was born and raised. She enjoyed long walks along the ocean drive. She became involved in the condominium association and was treasurer for many years. Ann loved all things Irish. For many years, up until recently, she was Secretary/Treasurer and a board member of the Newport Genealogical Society. Ann was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Patrick Church, Chatham, St. Luke Parish Long Valley, St. Lucy Church, Middletown, RI and most recently, St. Vincent Martyr, Madison, NJ. Ann was beloved for her kind heart, loving personality and the interest she took in everyone that she met.
Ann is survived by her long time, devoted and closest friend, Fr. Owen B. Moran, John’s sons, John and Cyndi Farrell (wife), and their daughter, Emily, David and Carmella Farrell (wife), their children, Natalie and Michael, her beloved sister-in-law, Connie McKenna and her children, Michael, Stephen and Barbara (wife), their children, Jeremy, Nathanial and Nicholas and Frank and Anna Maria (wife), their children, Julianna, Grace and Mary. She is mourned by her extended family of cousins including Herb and Donald Hagerman of Long Island and her dear friends in Middletown and Newport, Rhode Island.
Ann passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care unit of Morristown Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Ann’s wake will be at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, NJ on Friday, December 22 from 9:00am - 10:00am. Her Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 am at St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison. Her burial will immediately follow at St. Theresa Cemetery, Summit. The Mass will be livestreamed.
