Obituary of David R. MacMillan
David Ross MacMillan, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. He was born and raised in Madison, NJ, before moving to Morris Township and, ultimately, to Morris Plains.He married the love of his life, Mary (nee Freman) in 1961 and they lived happily for 58 years until her passing in 2019. He worked most of his career for Bell Labs before retiring from Bellcore in 1993.
David had many hobbies which included carpentry, photography, music, and jogging. He was an avid reader, a gun enthusiast, liked bird watching, and traveling around the globe with his wife. He was a life-time member of the Madison Masonic Lodge and belonged to the Clan MacMillan Society of North America.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary, survived by his sons and daughters-in-laws, Sean, and his wife, Derya, Kevin, Dan and his wife, Nancy, and two grandchildren, Molly and Daniel.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for David. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in David’s memory to the Madison, NJ, Masonic Lodge #93, 170 Main St., Madison, NJ 07940.
