Obituary of Olympia Howard
Olympia “Lee” Howard, of Morris Township, NJ, formerly of Bloomfield, NJ and Glen Ridge, NJ passed away peacefully at 90 on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at her home after a vigilant battle with cancer. She spent the last days comfortably with her devoted husband of 70 years, Bob of Morris Township, NJ, her precious daughter Sandra Emmerich of Madison, NJ and loving son Robert Howard of Naples, FL.
Lee was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loving and compassionate beyond measure with an incredible devotion to her family and grandchildren. She devoted her entire life to her husband and her children. She exemplified the definition of “Mother” and personified “friend” to her children. She was the happiest when she and Bob would sit with the “kids” and enjoy each other’s company.
She had immense inner strength, compassion, elegance, and a fabulous sense of style. She was kind and loving to everyone she knew and a devout Catholic whose biggest source of joy and pride were her family. She is survived by her sister, Vicenza Wolf of Denver, CO, her two children Sandra (and Daniel) Emmerich, Robert (and Teresa) Howard, her four cherished grandchildren Robert (and Nicole) Emmerich of Morris Township, NJ, Alexa (and Michael) Mulieri of Lutherville-Timonium, MD, Stephen Howard of New York City and Lauren Emmerich of Madison, NJ and her three precious great-grandchildren Ava and Charlie Mulieri and Aiden Emmerich.
God may have taken her from our arms, but she shall remain in our hearts and daily thoughts and prayers forever. Her courage, energy, love, and ability to laugh with her family and friends during her life and illness shall be a lasting inspiration to all who knew her. And, for all the hearts she has touched during her life – may her journey be blessed by God’s angels.
A Church Service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Saint Vincent Martyr Church, Madison, NJ.
