Obituary of Evelyn A. Ross

~~Beloved Sister , Aunt, & Former United States Marine

Evelyn A. Ross (nee McGovern), 88, formerly of Los Angeles, California and Palm Harbor, Florida passed away on July 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Arden Courts of Whippany. 

Born in Newark, Evelyn recently celebrated her 88th birthday. She graduated from St. Charles Borromeo and St. Peter’s Secretarial School, both in Newark.

Evelyn proudly served her country in the U.S. Marine Corps in California from 1950-1953 during the Korean War.

She worked for the Prudential Insurance Company in Los Angeles, California; before retiring in 2000 and moving to Palm Harbor, Florida in 2001.

Evelyn is survived by her devoted sister, Mildred Kelly, of Parlin, NJ; and her loving brother, James J. McGovern, of Florham Park, NJ. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 9-11am at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, NJ. A Funeral Mass for Evelyn will follow at noon at Holy Family Church, 1 Lloyd Avenue, Florham Park, NJ. Interment will be private.
