Dear Mrs. Moran & all of the Morans: I was just thinking of Dr. Moran (I started calling him "Mike" when I turned 50!) just last week when the US Pond Hockey Championships were held here in Minneapolis. A lot of 10-12 year olds were learning how to play and skate and just have fun doing that, playing hockey. One of my first memories was in 1974 trying to get all three Moran boys with hockey gear to Danny Michaels. My mother Eileen must have been talking his ear off since Monday, and of course I could remember stories for hours as he has had a personal effect on my life in that all of our time here on Earth is fleeting, and we must love the people in our lives no matter how painful that may be at times because sometimes there are no second chances.. My personal thoughts, meditations, and prayers will go to all of you and his warmth and grace will be an inspiration to your family and all who had the honor to know him, for many years to come. Thank you for allowing me the chance to write my short comments and the chance to know the man. Let's raise a glass to dear Doctor Mike while we sing one for the Lord. I didn’t know Dr. Moran, but having read his obituary, I felt compelled to offer my sincere condolences to his family on his death. He was an amazingly wonderful, and accomplished, man and his life, and family, reflect his innate goodness, joy and integrity. You are all blessed to have had him as father and grandfather.
