Obituary of Ann Marie McGovern

Ann Marie McGovern died peacefully July 5 surrounded by her loving family.She was born on September 17, 1925 in Summit, NJ, the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Martin. She went to be reunited to her trusted husband of 44 years, Daniel Paul McGovern Sr.It was not the ephemeral accolade or academic degree by which she will be remembered but rather her outpouring of unconditional love. With maternal fervor she loved and guided family, friends and strangers. This is her untarnished legacy. She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish in Chatham, NJ and then St Joseph Bread of Life Community in Erie PA.Ann Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Paul. Her death was also preceded by her son, Daniel Paul Jr MD and two brothers, Robert and Peter Martin.She is survived by her children Suzanne McGovern (widow of Daniel Paul Jr MD) of Belle Mead, NJ; Robert McGovern and his wife Mary of New Vernon, NJ; Susan Zabor and her husband David of Princeton, NJ; Jeffrey McGovern MD and his wife Kathleen of Erie, PA; 12 loving grandchildren ; seven great- grandchildren; brother Donald and his wife Pat; sisters- in- law Patricia Maslanka, Rebecca and Diane Martin; numerous loving nieces and nephews.Family and friends may call at Burroughs Kohr and Dangler Funeral Home 106 Main Street in Madison, NJ Tues., July 14 from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM.Mass of Christian burial will take place at Corpus Christi Parish in Chatham NJ Wed, July 15 at 1030 AM with internment at St Vincent Cemetery, Madison, NJ.
