Obituary of Michael James Bronco
On April 9, 2024, Michael J. "Mike" Bronco of Florham Park, NJ, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was born on April 20, 1944 to the late Joseph and Mary Bronco and raised in Chatham, NJ.
Mike worked in autobody for 57 years while owning George’s Suburban Body Shop for 36 years where he never missed a day. His hobbies included landscaping, home improvements, watching the Yankees, taking care of his pets, and spending time with his family. Mike never missed events and celebrations for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He couldn’t be more proud of all his family members. This past August the family gathered to celebrate Mike and Linda’s 60th wedding anniversary. Mike was a simple and humble man who enjoyed the little things in life. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will always be remembered.
Mike cherished his role as a devoted family man. He met the love of his life, Linda (Livesey), and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a dedicated father to 5 children, Lisa Doherty (Bill) of Marlton, NJ, Michael Bronco (Holly) of Awendaw, SC, Jeffrey Bronco (Ashley) of Virginia Beach, VA, Kenneth Bronco of Rockaway, NJ, and Scott Bronco (Beth) of Clark, NJ. As a grandfather, “Loupin” created lasting bonds with his grandchildren William Doherty (Shera), Heather Gaskill (Kevin), Christina Neild (Billy), Jessica Bronco, Kasey Bronco, Michael Bronco, Summer Bronco, October-Sky Bronco, Phoenix-Aurora Bronco, and Savannah Calinda. He was a loving great-grandfather to Shea, Maeve, Walker, Hazel, and Isabel.
Mike was a respected brother of Kathy, Ginny, Paul, and predeceased by Joseph and Bill. He was adored by many nieces and nephews.
Mike will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the legacy of hard work, simplicity, love, and kindness he leaves behind.
Family, friends, and others of the lives he touched are invited to celebrate Mike’s life. A viewing will be held at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, NJ, on April 19th from 4-7pm. A funeral service will begin at 1:00pm at Grace Church, 4 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ on April 20th, his 80th birthday.
