In Loving Memory of Teresita Rojas Aquino

October 3, 1942 - April 22, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Teresita Aquino on April 22, 2024 at the age of 81. Teresita, affectionately known as “Tessie”, was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt and friend whose presence resonated deeply within the hearts of all who knew her. Teresita was predeceased by her parents, Honourable Venancio Aquino and Marina (Rojas) Aquino, sister Dr. Rosalita (Aquino) Rideout and brothers Marcial, Cesar and Reynaldo Aquino.

Born in Cavite City, Philippines, Tessie’s life was marked by her independent and kind spirit. Tessie earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1965 from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. Upon moving to the United States, she completed her qualification as a Medical Technologist in 1970 at the St. Francis Hospital in New Jersey. Tessie then started a lifelong career in 1971 at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia Hospital, where she was much loved and appreciated by all those who worked and dealt with her in the blood bank.

Tessie dedicated herself to her family, her friends, her faith and her work. She was always so generous with her love, care and time. Tessie’s curiosity and sense of adventure led her to travel all over the world, always keeping her faith, friends and family in her heart. In her later years, Tessie was happy to share a bond with her special friend Gregg Steele creating wonderful memories together.

As we mourn the loss of Teresita, we celebrate her life and are grateful for all that she brought to us and this world. May Tessie rest in eternal peace in our Lord’s heart, knowing that she is deeply loved and forever remembered.

A Graveside Service for Tessie will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 11:00am at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
