Obituary of Nolan E. Asch
Nolan Asch, 74, of Madison, passed away on May 2, 2024.
Born in New York, NY, Nolan resided in Summit and New Providence for 30 years before moving to Madison six years ago.
Nolan earned his B.S. degree from Columbia University in 1971, and his MBA from Tulane University in 1973.
He worked as an Actuary for SCOR Re, and ISO (now Verisk) before retiring in 2012.
In his spare time, Nolan enjoyed sharing his historical knowledge and being a member of the Summit Old Guard, American Revolution Round Table, Civil War Round Table, and the Alexander Hamilton Awareness (AHA) Society. He also helped raise awareness on the importance of monitoring Near Earth Objects like asteroids in the late 1990s.
Nolan is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Asch; and his devoted children, Melissa McInerney, and her husband, Robert, and Greg Asch. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Elizabeth Downing; his cherished grandsons, Grady and Connor McInerney; and his dear nephews, Sean Downing and Alex Feranec.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 5-8pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison. A Funeral Service followed by Interment for Nolan will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 12:30pm at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 85 Pleasant Hill Road, Chester.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Nolan may be made to: The Planetary Society (www.planetary.org).
