Obituary of Joan Marie Metro

 Joan Marie Metro, 87, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center. She was born in Atlantic City, NJ, and resided in Florham Park for the past 60 years. 

Joan graduated from Juanita College, PA, in 1958 where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She worked as a teacher for many years in Livingston , and later in life Joan became a travel agent. Traveling was her passion and she had the opportunity to visit over 80 countries. She was a member of Holy Family Church as well as the Women’s Club. In her free time, she enjoyed playing tennis and bridge. 

Joan is survived by her devoted husband, Richard A. Metro, and her loving sons, Richard and his wife, Erica, Steven and his wife, Bethann, Jeffrey and his wife, Margaret. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Maya, Tate, Shane, Colin, Keenan, Devon and Kieran. 

A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 18, 2024,at 10:30am at Holy Family Church, Florham Park, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY, in the name of Colin Metro.
