Dear Maureen, family and friends of Jack,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Jack´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor on the USS Sea Robin SS-407 and USS Cero SS-225.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
Maureen and family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).
Jim Sandman, FTC(SS) Ret,
National Chaplain, USSVI.

I've made several trips up to New
Jersey to visit Deb and her folks over the past ~15 years. From Day one, "Dad" treated me like family. He'd taxi me to/from the train station - at his insistence, impart sage wisdom "Don't stay too late in the city", and crack us up trying to retrieve a misplaced password.
When Deb got worried during the lockdowns, I told her "Don't worry, your Dad's a stud". He strongly agreed, of course.
And what a guy! Another of the great generation has left us. They're not making these people anymore.

Handsome Jack (as he is widely known) will be missed by so many. When Maureen came to my wedding shower she was the topic of conversation - "Who is that beautiful woman?" Well, when Jack showed up at the wedding, HE, very quickly captured everyone's attention with his tall and handsome presence! But he was just as beautiful on the inside as he was on the outside - always funny, upbeat, and just a great time. It's obvious why his family loves him and will miss him so much. I will too.

Jack was a good friend and golfing buddy. I never met a person that did not like Jack. He was always an upbeat person and good story teller. My fondest memories of Jack were his love of family ,his patriotism, and his perfect Manhattans. Jack would call me frequently to tell me stories about his grandsons and then proceed to reminisce about the great times we had over the last forty years playing golf with Teddy and the Bobs at Pinch Brook and Stone Harbor. He always saved his one allowed "Mulligan".
until the18th hole.
Jack will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
May he rest in peace.
