Theresa and Family, like so many of us whose lives were touched and enhanced by Anthony's presence, today I am privileged to celebrate his life and his lasting presence in mine. As a Paterson Diocesan Seminarian at Darlington, 1963-66, I met regularly with Anthony and sought his counsel as we dealt with my growing conviction that I was not suited to the priesthood.
During this relatively intense period of reflection, Anthony's non-judgmental and supportive manner enabled me to comfortably complete the academic year, meet with and resign to Paterson Diocese Vicar-General Rev. Msgr. Frank Rodimer, and join the faculty of Neward Academy in Livingston as an Instructor in English, 1966-69.
In the 58 years since Anthony and I last met, I have often reflected on one of my two most consequential life-decisions, and truly believe that Anthony's involvement uniquely contributed to its benefits which continue to this day and include a joyous recently celebrated 50-year marriage (Maureen) with a wonderful blessing (Rachael).

My heart is with you, Theresa, and your family, in this time of grieving.
My husband, Romeo, idolized Anthony. When he came to visit us in El Paso in the 80s and 90s, i I understood why. He’s so graciously gave several interviews to each of us on our TV programs: (Romeo’s “ Emerging Renaissance”, and my” Women’s Worth”.) he spoke brilliantly about the history of the church and the need for reform. We considered it the highlight of our careers. He also said Romeo’s Memorial Mass at Liberty Park in 2006. Never have I known anyone with such an amazing intellect to possess such genuine humility.
Knowing Anthony and Theresa has been a great honor of our lives. After reading Anthony””s obituary, my first thought was: what a life…he should be canonized!
