Obituary of James E. Morrison, Sr.

James E. “Jim” Morrison, Sr., 90, passed away on June 23, 2024, at Morris View Healthcare Center.

Born in Morristown, NJ, he lived in Morristown for the past 56 years.

Jim graduated from Morristown High School in 1952. He worked as a Supervisor for the Morris County Parks Commission for 11 years until his retirement in 2007. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956.

Jim is survived by his devoted children, James E. Morrison, Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Parsippany, Susan E. Ransom and her husband, Steven, of Morristown, Joseph B. Morrison, Sr. and his fiancé, Marybeth Auriemma of Succasunna, John Morrison of Palm Coast, FL, Sandra Forschner and her husband, John, of Kenvil, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Sherri Miller and her husband, Jason, Kyle Morrison, Holly Conklin, Joseph Morrison, Jr. , Brett Morrison and his wife, Aundrea, Caitlin Morrison, Aaron Morrison, and Tyler Forschner. He is also survived by his adored great-grandchildren, Jaelyn, Gabriella, Natosha, Ariel, Bentley, Nico, Willa and Carver; and his dear sister, Jane Keyes and her husband, Paul.

Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret, in 2022, his brothers, Robert Morrison, Maurice Morrison,and Thomas Morrison, and his sister Shirley Urenovich and his daughter-in-law, Gail Morrison. 

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 4-7pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave, Morris Plains, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00am at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
