Obituary of John Basil Hunt

John Basil Hunt, 93, of Morris Plains, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

John was born on October 17, 1931, in Orange, NJ, and lived a full, vibrant life dedicated to his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Helen L. Hunt; his children, John W. Hunt (Susan), Robert A. Hunt (Kathy), and Pamela J. (Hunt) Kelly (Tadgh); his grandchildren, Jason Hunt, Jessica Weil, Tyler Hunt, Zachery Hunt, Liam Kelly, and Meaghan Kelly; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan Hunt, Gavin Hunt, Charlotte Weil, Corrine Weil, Declan Kelly, and Maeve Kelly. He is also survived by his brothers, Peter Hunt (Kathy) and Wayne Hunt, as well as many dear relatives and friends. John will be fondly remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and generosity.

Throughout his career, John worked in sales and was the proud owner of HyGrade Typewriter and Stationery in Morristown, NJ. He was actively involved in Kiwanis and other community service organizations. In his free time, John enjoyed golfing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

A funeral service will be held at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ 07950, on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
