Obituary of William B. Conroy

William B. “Bill” Conroy, 81, passed away on November 7, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Bill was born in Montclair, NJ, and lived in Chatham, NJ for the past 47 years.  

Bill graduated from Upsala College, East Orange, NJ, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He worked for the New Jersey State Department of Labor as the Chief Auditor for 30 years until his retirement.

Bill was a parishioner of St. Partick’s Church, Chatham, NJ. He also belonged to the Lions Club, Irvington, NJ, and the Knights of Columbus, Chatham, NJ.

In his spare time, Bill was an Appalachia Volunteer through St. Patrick’s Church, and was an active member of the Literacy Volunteers of Morris County.

He proudly served his county in the U.S. Army and, from 1962 -1963; where he served as part of the US Arctic Test Board in Alaska.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Conroy; his loving daughter, Katrina Marie Conroy, North Carolina; and his cherished granddaughter, Astrid Lei Skinner.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for a Memorial Mass on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 4:00pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ.
