Obituary of Robert J. Ferraro

“To a life well lived.” Robert “Bob” Ferraro passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, at the age of 85 surrounded by his cherished wife of 57 years Wendy (Bilinkas) and loving daughters Cathy (Paul Leo), Susan (Kris Taubald) and Karin (Kevin Laughlin) by his side.  A pillar of strength and a beacon of humor and love, his absence leaves a void in our hearts.

Bob was the quintessential example of hard blue-collar work and humbleness, in his many roles including, owner and operator of his family business, Ferraro Transportation, as a caring father to his three girls and loving husband to Wendy.

He was a city kid, born and raised in Jersey City, NJ to Angelo and Ruth Ferraro and ultimately settled in Union, NJ with the love of his life Wendy, where they raised their family for the past 50+ years. 

He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and a proud American who served in the National Guard. His hobbies included photography, love of cars and fixing things.

In his retirement years, he loved nothing more than to spend time with his children, grandchildren (Olivia, Alexa, Charlie and Henry), and his grand-dogs (Brownie and Owen). He relished in sunsets at the beach and “coffee talk at the shop” with his buddies.

To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed.
