Jimmy,
It has taken me a while to accept your loss. I know you would not want me to be sad, but I am. It was a gift to be able to see you one more time before you said goodbye. To say I will dearly miss you, would be an understatement. I met you when I was 18 years old and you have been a constant in my life for over 30+ years now. In those years you made me laugh more times than I can count. Your artistic ability left an indelible imprint on all of us and for that, I am grateful. As I looked through all of your old cards, my mind was flooded with memories of the old days at Smiths and the recent years at L3. You were a true original who shone a bright light on this world. I hope you know how much you were truly loved by everyone who was blessed to have known you. I am a better person for it and so thankful that you were a part of my life. xoxo Tracy Osetec

Willy leaves us with many fond memories, over many years. Watta Guy!
Each year without fail, Avenel friends would come by to celebrate my Brother Bill’s Christmas Birthday.
Year in, year out. Lifelong friends. More than lifelong. Along with Willy it was Bill Possiel, Phil Svoboda, and
Tom Miska as esteemed members of the gang from “The Wall”.
Fond memories of Willy easily come to mind which brings a tear to these eyes. Willy always, always wore a smile…
his creative Christmas Cards were a treasure and now turns out to be a collector’s item…I’ve attached a page from the scrapbook of Brother Bill…even now as I glance at this page I can recall his routine greeting to me - - “Young Timer”, with my Brother Philip as “Old Timer”…a greeting that was quoted at birthdays all thru these years…at the passing of my Mother Dear, Willy brought a plant to the services in lieu of flowers…a practice I have since adopted that continues to bring Willy back to mind…I can recall the accompanied card that read ‘The Best Den Mother Ever”…
Once again I become mindful of a favored quote:
We begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived.
And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
Until we meet again, Willy…
Young Timer

Jim's happy go lucky way always made me smile and enjoy the time spent together on the CERT Team in Denville. He was a joy to be around as he made others enjoy the day. My sincerest sympathy to Debbie and their family at this great loss.

Willy will be truly missed. He was a fixture on Liberty Place which won't be the same without him. Ed and I both enjoyed having conversations with him over the years. His love for our own dog Bailey was beyond imaginable. He would almost daily walk down the driveway and visit with her. It showed what a gentle, caring man he was. We will miss you, neighbor.
Our deepest condolences, Debbie.

Earth has lost a wonderful human being in Jim. Heaven has gained a real asset.
He will certainly be missed among us mere mortals.

The origin of the nickname “Willy”: As adolescents and teenagers we would play one-on-one basketball and he would jokingly claim to be Wilt Chamberlain and thus, the nickname started as Wilt Wilkinson, which evolved into Willy.
