Obituary of Franklin D. Lutz

~~Franklin D. Lutz, 80, formerly of Teaneck, more recently of Madison, passed away on August 29, 2017 in Morristown.


Born in Pottsville, PA, Franklin resided in Teaneck before moving to Madison eight months ago. 
Franklin earned his B.S. degree in Sociology from St. Peter’s College in 1963. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce as an Airmen 1st Class, post the Korean War.


Franklin held positions such as a Senior Underwriter, Licensed Broker, and Consultant in the Insurance industry for 45 years, until his retirement in 2007. In his spare time, he was a 30-year parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Hackensack; President of The Community Chest in Teaneck; and a member of the Teaneck City Club.


Franklin is survived by his loving wife, Judith Lutz; and his devoted children, Chris and Alison Lutz, of Madison, and Cindy and Mike Weiss, of Mahwah. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Charlie and Peggy Lutz, of Toms River, Evelyn Lutz, of Tinton Falls, Paul and Denise Lutz, of Massachusetts, and Peter and Joanne Lutz, of Vermont; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Paige, Matthew, and Alexandra Lutz, and Hannah and Leah Weiss. Franklin was predeceased by his brother, Francis Lutz.


A Memorial Service for Franklin will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 25 Purdue Avenue, Oakland, NJ 07436. Interment will be private.


In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Franklin may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/).
