Obituary of Olympio Stirone

Olympio “Frank, Sonny” Stirone passed away on July 15, 2015. He was born in Morristown, NJ. He lived in Dover, NJ, prior to moving to Whippany, NJ, 13 years ago. Mr. Stirone worked as a glazier for York Glass, Morristown, NJ, for 47 years before he retired in 1994. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church, Cedar Knolls, NJ. Mr. Stirone is survived by his loving wife, Mary, to whom he was happily married for 62 years. He is also survived by his devoted daughters, Diane Johnson and her husband, Jerry, of North Carolina, and Denise Basista and her husband, Brian, of Whippany, NJ, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Shannon Lea, Justin Lea, Michael Bizzarro, Matthew Bizzarro and Mark Basista and a great-grandchild, Parker Lea. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 19, 2015, from 2-6 pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015, at 10:00am at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church, 75 Ridgedale Ave., Cedar Knolls, NJ. Entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cedar Knolls First Aid Squad, 82 Ridgedale Ave., Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927.
