Obituary of Hilde Lore Herzner

~~Hilde Lore Herzner passed away on October 24, 2017 in Hackettstown, NJ. She was born in Giengen, Germany, and lived in Rosedale Queens, NY and Montville, NJ prior to moving to Hackettstown, NJ.

Hilde met and fell in love with her husband, Werner Herzner, in Germany. She immigrated to the United States by ship in 1955. She learned English by “reading” Look and Life Magazines and was bilingual in two languages.

She was a well-loved sales clerk at Macy’s, Fortunoffs and Epstein’s in Morristown, NJ.
Hilde was a supportive parent to her daughters, Barbara Herzner, Panther Valley, NJ and Heidi Lutz and her husband, Victor, Madison, NJ. She is survived by her brother, Peter Hambrecht, Germany. She is a proud and loving grandmother to Griffin and Ryan Lutz.

Hilde was predeceased by her husband, Werner, on June 30, 1980.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2-5 pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ 07940. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery, 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, NJ 07005.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Hilde’s memory to the Karen Ann Quinlan Memorial Foundation, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ  07860.
