Obituary of Helen M. Prentiss

~~Helen M. (Nolan) Prentiss, 90, passed away peacefully and joined her family in heaven on October 25, 2017 at Sunrise Assisted Living, Madison, NJ. She was born in Morristown, NJ but lived most of her life in Madison, NJ.

Helen graduated from Bayley High School in 1945. She was a dedicated wife and mother who lovingly took care of her family. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Prentiss, in 1946. He predeceased her in May 2017.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kathy Ross and her husband, Scott, Basking Ridge, NJ, and her cherished grandchildren, Erin and her husband, Peter, Dorset, Vt., and Matt , Apex, NC, and  three great-grandchildren, Brennan, Molly and Liam. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Nolan, Palm Coast, FL, and predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth “Mitzi” Stone, and Mary Lavalle.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 4-7 pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ  07940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2017, at 10:00am at St. Vincent Martyr  Church, Madison. NJ. Entombment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery  Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Helen’s memory to the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, 194 Route 10 W, East Hanover, NJ 07936.
