Although I only knew Bob for a short time after joining the KOC, he was clearly a man of great character, conviction and total caring and concern about everyone, especially his family and brother Knights, RIP, Bob.....

I only knew Robert through his grandchildren, which is to say, I knew him to be a warm and lovely person and dearly loved as Pop Pop. Our genuine condolences to a family and community who will miss him.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of this wonderful person. I was the flower girl at Maureen and Bob's wedding and Bobby was my first crush. He will be missed but all those we have lost will be waiting to greet him in heaven.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. de Poortere. His life was one of service to his family and community. I hope in the days and weeks to come, my classmate Michael and his mother and brothers lean on those memories to get them through this tough time.

Jim, Very sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. My prayers are with you. Now I know where the de Poortere’s got their looks. I’ve talked to Dave Ferrara a few times recently and he talks of how your kids are at Providence together. Such a small world. Take care of yourself. Eventually I’ll see you this world is too small not too.
Peace. Chris Hoy.

I met Bob at Bell Telephone Laboratories during his working years. He was particularly effective at his job, managing computer-based information systems. Bob was also a good-natured, quick-witted person and we soon became good friends, often traveling together on business missions and, at times, in personal pursuits. He was also a dedicated family man. Bob and his wife, Maureen, raised five fine sons who reflect his qualities.
The planet will be diminished by Bob's absence, but surely he will be welcomed into the fullness of the eternal life that he so richly deserves.
Resto nella pace, Bob.
