Obituary of Elizabeth G. Wurzer

Elizabeth “Betty” G. Wurzer, 73, of Morris Plains, passed away on April 25, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center.

Daughter of the late Fred and Florence Hubert, Betty was born in Morristown. She graduated from Morristown High School and the Joseph Paterno School of Cosmetology. Betty resided in Morris Plains for the past 49 years.

Betty was a self-employed hair stylist for 10 years, before retiring in 1998. She was also a parishioner of St. Virgil’s Church, Morris Plains.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Herbert M. Wurzer; and her devoted children, Theresa M. Horniacek and her husband, Tommy, of Lyndhurst, NJ, and Michael A. Wurzer, and his wife, Christine, of York, PA. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Bobbie and Ronald Pennimpede, of Morristown, NJ, Frederick and Heidi Hubert, of Whippany, NJ, and Kathy Roussel, of Parsippany, NJ; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Taylor Horniacek, Andrew Wurzer, Tara Horniacek, and Amanda Wurzer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2-6pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Mass for Betty will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 9:30am at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Entombment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Betty may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
