Obituary of William A. Leader

William A. Leader, 78, a 50-year resident of Morris Plains, New Jersey passed away on June 9, 2018. 

Bill was born in Newark, New Jersey to Herbert and Therese Leader on August 14, 1939 and grew up in Hanover Twp., N.J.. He graduated from Madison High School in 1957 and immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force. He then went on to earn a B.S. degree from Fairleigh Dickinson in 1974. He began his career in accounting with Beneficial Finance Corporation and retired as Controller, from Suburban Propane in 1994. 

Bill is survived by Joanne, his wife of 54 years, and three children, William, wife Tammy and two grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas of Netcong, N.J., Robert and wife Rebecca of Mt. Arlington, N.J., and Thomas and partner Michael Farrell of New Paltz, New York. He is also survived by a sister, Virginia McGuirk and her husband James of Lincoln, CA. 

Bill was an active member of the community serving as Treasurer and coach of Morris Plains Little League and Eucharistic Minister at Resurrection Parish in Randolph, N.J.. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with family. 

Visitation will be held at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, N.J. 07950 on Tuesday, June 12, from 4 to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at Resurrection Parish, 651 Millbrook Ave., Randolph, N.J. at 10 am. Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown, N.J.
