Obituary of John Henry Udes
John H. Udes, 58, of Morris Plains, passed away Friday, August 3. Born in Paterson, John graduated from Manchester Regional High School in 1978. John founded and operated Quality Ambulance Service, Victory Gardens, for over 20 years, and following the sale of that business, worked for Kuiken Brothers Lumber, Succasunna.
John is survived by his wife, Laurie; his daughter, Amanda and her fiancé Daniel Ricigliano; stepson Wesley Lomax and his husband, Michael; stepdaughter Tammy Lomax and her husband Jayson; his sister Karen Bosloper and her husband Edward; and their children Brian, Stephen, and Kelly. He is predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Henry Udes.
A congregant of Somerset Hills Lutheran Church in Basking Ridge, John was always quick to offer help to anyone in need. He enjoyed working with his hands, with several projects usually in process in his garage. From racing cars to fishing, John also loved any chance to be outdoors, especially on his boat in the Raritan Bay with his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, 350 Lake Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to: Davies Mission, c/o Somerset Hills Lutheran Church.
