Obituary of Palma "Pam" Antonaccio
Palma (“Pam”) C. Antonaccio passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 with her loving family by her side, at the age of 88.
Pam was a lifelong resident of the Morristown/Morris Plains area. She attended Morristown schools; graduating from Morristown High School in 1947.
Pam was a legal secretary for many years at the Morristown law firm of Malehorn, Wiley & Sirota. After retirement, she pursued a life-long dream of owning her own business and opened a boutique women’s wear shop, "Fashions by Palma", on South Street, Morristown.
Known to her peers as a cheerful, happy person with a beautiful smile, Pam’s indefatigable energy, and generous spirit motivated her to become a community leader after she moved to Morris Plains. For over 40 years, she was very active in the Morris County Republican Club serving in many fund raising capacities and wherever there was a need. She also gave generously of her time to the Morris Plains Municipal Alliance. Typical of Pam's willingness to help, she worked for a time in the Morris Plains tax office during a shortage of personnel.
As a community leader, she served for a time as President of NJ Legal Secretary’s Association; President for five years of the Morris Plains Senior Citizens Association; and as founder of the Red Hats Association, where she also served as “Queen.”
Through the years, Pam also served as a vital member of the Class of ’47 Reunion Committee and often as Chairwoman.
Pam is survived by two loving sons, Frank, of Randolph, and his companion, Colleen, and Mark and Fran, of Denville. Pam was predeceased by her husband, Frank (“Rocco”), in 1988.
Also surviving are her sisters, Jean Cipparulo, of Morris Plains, Marie Pfeifer, of Morristown, and her brother, Leonard, and his wife, Nancy, of Las Vegas.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 2-5pm.
A Mass will be said in Pam’s honor at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 10am. Interment at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morris Township will follow the Mass.
