Obituary of Carl Steven Tongring

Carl S. Tongring, 69, of Budd Lake, passed away August 15, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center.

Born in New Brunswick, NJ, Carl lived in Kenmore, NY, a suburb of Buffalo, NY, then moved to Morris Township, and lastly to Budd Lake, NJ where he has resided for the past 30 years.

Carl graduated from Governor Livingston High School in 1966 and attended Ashland University in Ohio, where he graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Eduation with a Minor in Psycology.Carl was in the New Jersey Army National Guard from 1970-1976. Before his retirement in 2013, Carl went on to work for the Federal Government as a Claims Representative at the Social Security Administration in Parsippany, NJ, where he worked for 39 years.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Judi (nee Bentz) Tongring of Budd Lake, NJ, caring sons, Christopher Matthew Tongring of Mount Olive, NJ, and Michael Todd Tongring of Princeton, NJ. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Susan Spence and her husband, James Spence, and devoted sister-in-law, Susan Debbie and the late Daniel Debbie. Adored uncle of Patrick Spence and the late Moira Kate Debbie.

Family and friends are welcome to gather Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 4-7 pm at Burroughts, Kohr, & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 10 am at Burroughts, Kohr, & Dangler Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery, Shunpike Road & Noe Avenue, Madison, NJ.
