Kay, as she was fondly known by family and friends, was born in Boston to the late Michael H. and Ethel "Lena" (Shea) Blute.

Her first husband, Michael T. Wallace Sr., her second husband, Daniel Matthews, her brother Robert Blute, MD and her sister Ann L. Vogt predeceased her.

She was the loving mother of Michael, Mark, Kathleen, Patric and Sean; dear grandmother to Courtney, Ashley, Thomas, Katherine, James, Kerry, Jessica, Megan, Kaitlyn, Diana, Shawn and Matthew.  Kay is survived by her five children and 12 granchildren.

Kay was a graduate of Emmanuel College of Boston and a former member of the Morris County Golf Club, Thursday Morning Club, and St. Vincent’s Parish. She also was a keen supporter of the Covenant House in New York raising funds and helping the organization grow its base and city footprint.  She loved playing tennis and regularly attended Broadway Plays and Musicals in Manhattan.  She raised five children, was an incredible cook, and was dedicated to helping the sick by visiting them in local hospitals.
