I´m sad to see that Bill has passed on. Bill and I never met, but had long talks on the phone over the years. He had a special connection to Sweden since his wife was from Borås.We got connected through his business since both Marianne and I work with classic cars and interiors. Last time we talked I said to him, we must meet Bill. I´ve said this several times to him over the years. He replied: Well Sven, then we have to hurry up, I´m not a young man anymore. Sadly it didn´t happened. I sincerely regret that we didn´t meet. Rest in peace my friend, maybe we´ll met one day on the "other side". Sven in Sweden

I had the pleasure of getting to know Bill over the last decade as his representative at Hemmings Motor News. His zeal for life, his love of family and business always impressed me. Once asked Bill at a Hershey Meet why he hasn’t retired and he just laughed and said “I am having too much fun!”
From the Hemmings family to the Hirsch family. We extend our sincerest sympathy on Bill’s passing. The old car hobby has lost a friend, steward and icon.
My peace to you all.

I knew Bill for 52 years and he never said anything mean to me. After my having roamed the USA and living overseas his greatest compliment was being happy that I never forgot to wish him well.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Bill's passing. Back in the 1970s when I first met him, Bill was always able to help or advise me with work on my Packards. He was a gentleman and his loss is a great one. My condolences to his family.

Bill, ten years to the day my senior, has been my best friend for 50 years. Our Swedish ties and Packard were among the factors that forged a life-long friendship. He will be greatly missed. Tack kära Berit för att jag fått vara med på ett hörn.

Mr Hirsch will be greatly missed - his knowledge of classic cars was amazing. A dear family friend for over 50 years ... I will cherish his last few visits to our shop. Always positive and happy. RIP good man, now you and my Dad can talk cars again ( in Heaven )
