Obituary of Anthony "Tony" R. Battaglia
Anthony Richard Battaglia, 74, passed away on November 8, 2018 at St. Clare’s Hospital, Denville. He was born in Newark, NJ, and resided in South Orange, NJ, prior to moving to Mine Hill, NJ, 22 years ago.
Tony graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood, NJ, in 1962. He owned his own auto body shop in South Orange, NJ. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968 during the time of the Vietnam War.
Tony is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Caryn McLoughlin-Battagalia, and his loving children, Cassie, Vincent, and Corey all of Mine Hill, NJ, Michael, St Petersburg, FL, and Christine, Madison, NJ. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Battaglia-Dubinsky and husband, Mike, as well as four cherished grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his brother, Robert Battaglia, in 2004.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Monday, November 12, 2018, from 4-8 pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ 07940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 11:15 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, East Hanover. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Tony’s name to the Mine Hill First Aid Squad, 10 Baker St., Mine Hill, NJ 07803.
