Obituary of Regina "Jean" Regan Williams

Please share a memory of Regina "Jean" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jean Williams passed away in Morris Plains on December 7 after a brave battle against ovarian cancer. She was born Regina Regan on June 13, 1930 to William and Cecelia Regan in Utica, New York. She had one sister, Mary Colt (James), who preceded her in death.

Jean graduated in 1952 with a BS in nursing from Syracuse University. She worked as a nurse at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York before marrying Lloyd Williams in 1953. She returned to nursing after raising six children, serving as a school nurse in Morris Hills, Hanover Park and Whippany Park High Schools. She took great pride in her nursing vocation and kept up with the latest journals even long after she retired.

Over the years, she was active in many volunteer activities. She served on the Morristown Red Cross Board of Directors and helped to organize blood drives in Morris Plains. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Virgil’s Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She was also a volunteer at the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Jean is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lloyd, and six children: Mary (Gary Donahue), George (Larisa Murianka), Michael (Sheila Seaman), Ann O’Heney (Timothy), Thomas, and Beth Liou (Eric), as well as 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Monday, December 10, 2018, from 4-8 pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ  07950. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 10:30 am at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Ave. Morris Plains.

The family prefers that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Interfaith Food  Pantry (http://mcifp.org/donate/donate-food/)
