Obituary of Kevin Edward Drury
Kevin Edward Drury of Conyers, Georgia passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 24, 2019 due to heart failure. He was 52 years old. Kevin grew up in Whippany, New Jersey and was a 1985 graduate from Whippany Park High School.
Kevin spent his career working in the financial services and accounting industry, starting at Bradlees in East Hanover, New Jersey while still in high school. After Bradlees, Kevin took a position with Macy’s in Herald Square in NYC before transferring within the Macy’s organization to Atlanta, Georgia in 1994. While living in Conyers, Georgia he worked as a loan administrator/ cash manager with Luiski International and later worked as an accounts receivable manager with General Electric.
Kevin is survived by his sister Sherry Virosco and her husband Jim, his brother Jim Drury and his wife Annemarie, his twin brother Kenny Drury and his wife Robin, and his sister Christine Paterno and her husband Matt. He is also survived by his dear friends Danny Holifield and Todd Phillips, as well as his loving nieces and nephews, Jeane, CJ, Cathy, Jason, Leighanne, Danielle, Patrick, Anthony and Allison. He is also survived by Aunt Mare, Uncle Joe and Uncle Joey. He will be reunited with his parents, James Sr. and Joan Drury in Heaven.
Kevin loved animals; especially his dogs, Freckles, Sam, Tasha, Buddy, Vick and Roxy Pink. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was especially proud to host them for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. He looked forward to joining his family at the Jersey Shore each summer.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ 07950. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, 70 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ 07981. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kevin’s memory to The Humane Society, 1255 23rd St., NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037.
